Switching to the Sharkoon 1337 Mouse Pad

With the rise of mice designed for gaming, with their high quality optical and laser dpi, I thought that the days of the mouse mat were over. These mice were designed to work on almost any surface, so as soon as I had one I did away with my bulky plastic mouse mat, and played games just using my mouse on the surface of my wooden desk. But after stumbling across a gamer that used mouse mats, even with these new high quality mice, I questioned him and his reasoning. So that same week, I looked across the options and I brought myself a Sharkoon 1337 Gaming Pad, made by a company that specialises in gaming modifications, and accessories.

Sharkoon 1337's Friction & Feedback

The Sharkoon description promotes its mat as having minimal start and drag friction, and provides mouse feedback quickly and silently, and that's exactly what it does. Even though I use my desktop computer (and more often than not, my laptop) on a rather large and smooth, flat desk, once the Sharkoon mouse pad was in use the feel and accuracy of my games was greatly and very noticably improved. Even though the pad is on a desk that could be described as 'slippy' as soon as I placed it down it never moved again. Even care must be used when putting the mouse mat on your desk, as once it's down you can't slide it into place, the rubber on the bottom does a brilliant job of keeping the pad where you want it, however energetic you get with your game, and mouse.

Sharkoon 1337 Build Quality

I found the construction to be of a very high quality, considering the thickness of the pad as well. It is one of the thinnest mouse pads I've seen, and the build quality is very high. Especially since I use this mouse pad almost every day, and my mat shows no sign of wear and tear, and still provides the high performance that it did from the first day. If you're a gamer that hasn't tried one yet, this Sharkoon 1337 Gaming Mat comes highly recommended.
